Chicos Paradise Excursion
This tour offers a fun filled day in the most beautiful jungle setting in Puerto Vallarta. Spend the morning swimming in the warm river, horse back riding, zipping over the river on the canopy tour or just relax by the river with a cool tropical drink until the party starts! After lunch, we get together for a fun cultural dance exchange. Local instructors put on exhibitions so you can see our local dance styles. Then instructors from the ship dazzle the locals with what you are doing up north. Afterwards there's dancing with the jungle as a backdrop until it's time to head back. Many local dancers look forward to this tour. It gives everyone a change to meet new people and pick up a few new steps. The best part is that we all speak the same language!
Shall we Dance...
We meet you at the docks with air-conditioned tour buses. A guide on the bus provides information on Puerto Vallarta’s various points of interest as we drive through town and head south to Chico's, a 30 minute drive. On the way to Chico’s we stop at Tequila Mama Lucia’s Tequila Factory. This is a real tequila factory where you will learn how the Agave Azul plants are processed into the world famous Tequila. Visitors are treated to a free tequila tasting. Taste the various flavored tequilas as well as the typical tequilas. Once at Chico's you can go for a swim, take a zip line tour horse back ride into the jungle.
Chico’s is a restaurant built upon huge granite boulders that jaunt over the Tuito River. The Tuito River runs right in front of the restaurant and is perfect for swimming at this time of the year. There are smooth worn rocks that create a natural water slide. Several small waterfalls also decorate the hillsides of the river. Chico’s has set aside the main dinning area for us to use for dance exhibitions and dancing. After lunch, a DJ is available to play your favorite dance music. The local dancers come to meet the group and join in the dance fun! After Chico's Paradise, we drive you back downtown. We drop off those who want to stay in town and shop. Those who wish to go back to the ship stay on the buses.
Puerto Vallarta has a new Malecon (Board walk)!
The reconstructed, revamped, repaved, expanded, and enlarged waterfront walk-way is at the heart of the Vallarta's renascence. Gone are the narrow sidewalks of old with few places to sit, broken cobblestones, and all of traffic noise and fumes. The new Malecón is a wide, brick-lined, pedestrian-friendly, traffic-free boulevard with plenty of benches for people to sit on and lots of trees for shade. Strolling along the promenade, one passes numerous Puerto Vallarta landmarks, attractions and statues including one of this beach town's most beloved pieces, the Friendship Fountain, with its three dolphins. Small stores selling everything, from hand-stitched sandals and Cuban cigars to fresh-squeezed orange juice and fresh fish, line one side of the Primavera tree-lined Malecón, while the waves from the Pacific ocean crash on the other side. Sidewalk cafes, restaurants, and tortilla and taco stands are jammed in among places to book excursions, pharmacies, Oxxos (Mexican convenience stores), and money-changing booths, called Cambios.
