Are there going to be Dance
workshops for all levels?
First, this is a cruise, not a camp. The workshops are a fun
bonus.
If your primary concern is lessons, we suggest 1st to consider weekly
classes and private lessons, 2nd Workshops or Camps.
As to our fun classes, we are offering classes for dancers from beginner
to advanced level. Some classes will be beginner/intermediate,
some intermediate, and some intermediate/advanced. Because there
was not more time and space to break up the groups into individual
levels. There is a trade off with cruises, this is their boat, not
ours. This is the best we can do because of the limitation of
space and time for classes on board. We are only a part of the 2000+
guests the ship has to be concerned about. We feel that the ship's
staff has gone far out of their way in providing space for 3 nights of
dancing and many bonus hours of space for classes -- moving their own
events and other groups to do so.
Our Teachers did a great job last year - they are trying to please all
who were there. My hat is off to them. I know in a few cases
that they broke up the level of some classes into 50% for one level of
who was there and then 50% for those in the other level, while
carrying the thread of the class through both. Great
Job !!
Where are the dances held? Will there be
room to dance?
There will be lots of room to dance on wood dance
floors. First, we are on a different and newer ship this
year - the USS Spirit, a 88,500 ton vessel,
holding over 2000 passengers. All 3 evenings will be in a large
lounge, with our great DJs. This will allow us
over 1000 sq ft of wood floor for dancing and a private party atmosphere
for our group.
Why the prices are higher than what I've
seen advertised for other cruises. Shouldn't we see low prices that
other travelers are getting ?
There are a couple of reasons for our prices being higher:
1. Huge Added Value.
Great Lindy Instruction & Music -- not offered on other cruises!
We have the cost of the teachers & DJs travel expenses and time to
pay. That is - travel, cabins & expenses, and workshop fees.
The cost of our cruise is additional value
that Carnival doesn't pay for, therefore not in Carnival's everyday
price:
To name JUST 5 or 6...
The added value of our cruise is in our cost.
2. ALSO, any group booking with a cruise line
doesn't get the low "last minute" prices. The
exceptional prices are only on cruises that are not selling, and those
are only a few weeks away from the time of the ad. A cruise line
will not hold the space months before at exceptional prices, and then
rearrange their schedule on board to accommodate us over the needs of
the other 2000+ guests.
By the way, this cruise is now closed to groups. The ship's group
reservations are full. Come the January cut off date they will
start taking back our space --- prices will go up, if available.
We sold out our block of cabins the last 2 cruises !!
Why can't I book a cabin on the same cruise, for less money, just skip the workshops, and go to the dances. Aren't
they open to the public?
To ensure the space and comfort of our guests who pay for the extra
value of having great teachers, Carnival treats our dances as "private parties".
The dances and classes will only be available to
guests who book with DanceFun. Our wrist band will be required to
enter during the time of the dances and classes.
Hope you can join us !
